چکیده
Folding compliant mechanisms have the potential to be used for innovative designs tailored specific applications such as energy absorption, shape morphing, or stress relief. This tailorability relies on multiple variables that define geometric and material behavior. The combined effort of nonlinearity can emphasize certain features in design that, individually, would not possible. a concept is very important origami engineering requires careful choice when it comes dimensions properties. Finite element analyses folding at level unit cell, well overall structural design, cumbersome computationally expensive. Therefore, this work, segmented pseudo rigid body model captures high flexibility developed both superelastic material, which characterized using memory alloy, hyperelastic, rubber-like material. By increasing number segments, allows structure undergo large deformations. results from are compared with FEA mechanism. 3D-printing experimental testing mechanism also explored.

A Pseudo-rigid-body Model for Functionally Binary Pinned-pinned Segments Used in Compliant Mechanisms
The pseudo-rigid-body model concept allows compliant mechanisms to be analyzed using well-known rigid-body kinematics. This paper presents a pseudo-rigid-body model for initially circular functionally binary pinned-pinned segments that undergo large, nonlinear deflections. The model approximates the functionally binary pinned-pinned segment as three rigid members joined by pin joints. Torsional...
متن کاملCompliant contact models for rigid body collisions
Previous work in rigid body dynamic simulation has relied on rigid body impact models to model collisions. The well-known models due to Newton, Poisson, and Brach, are each based on a deenition of a coeecient of restitution for rigid body impact. The objective of this paper is to develop a new model that overcomes the deeciencies of these models in frictional impacts and to present a formulatio...
متن کاملOn the Design Methodology of Flexure-Based Compliant Mechanisms by Utilizing Pseudo-Rigid-Body Models with 3-DOF Joints
This paper focuses on the complex design process of planar compliant mechanisms with flexure hinges. In the following a systematic methodology of the transition from lever mechanisms generated intuitively by the developer or non-intuitively by topology optimization to applicable compliant mechanism is presented. An extended pseudo-rigid-body model (PRBM) is used for the analysis and the modific...

متن کاملAn Algorithm for Dynamic Rigid-Body Model
In this paper, an algorithm for dynamic rigid-body model is considered. To this end, we first develop an equivalent reformulation of the problem via the Fischer function. Based on this, we propose a new type of method for solving the problem, and the algorithm is shown to be globally convergent and quadratically convergent without nondegenerate assumption. Keywordsdynamic rigid-body model; line...
